Notifications for event changes (date, location, etc.)

I would like to make a request for a new feature:
notifications/reminders to participants about an event.
It happens quite often for the author of an event to forget to announce
it on the usual emailing lists.
It would be useful  to have the option when you create an event to add a
group/emails to be notificated about the time and place of the event.
Another example that I can give is our weekly offline meeting. My boss
has to send every time a reminder to the alice-off group about the
event, time and place.
A notification can also be sent when changing the place or time for a
meeting and then the author of the event does not have to remember to
send it all the time.

remind the users/email.
You are right, sending emails for any change will become spam, but maybe 
it can be enabled on demand.
To explain this, it happens that a room is changed half an hour before 
the event then I go to the previous room and find it empty :) Open my 
laptop, check new location, run to the new location :)

Or maybe you can have it from the user point of view. To subscribe to 
the event, I know you offer the calendar link but users sometimes prefer 
subscribing. Just some ideas, if you find something useful from them.
